I just went through the comments on Ben Chiarot trade and Arturri Lehkonen trade, maybe Hughes does some magic again this TDL ? Monahan is even better than Lehky and big Ben

Big draw with Lehky was the RFA control & low AAV last year - I think Colorado saw a guy they'd want to add to their lineup long-term and paid based on that - similar to Tampa going crazy and giving up a pair of 1sts for Hagel and his team-friendly deal & control.

Monahan is going to be a tough case to figure out at the deadline - do other GMs play hardball because the Habs already got a 1st for acquiring him? Does his current injury situation make them hesitant to pull the trigger? Does he keep playing at a 0.68 PPG pace when he's back on the ice? How much does the Bo Horvat market affect Monahan's? It's truly fascinating because I don't know if we've ever seen a player in his position go from a cap dump to a positive asset in such a short time.

I really went best case scenario above, but Monahan injuries could hold off many teams
Maybe he goes for a 3rd half retained and every fan base can laugh at us this time lmao

I honestly think a second would be a good return. I don't think he's good enough to get a first and if teams are paying a first they likely want someone who will actually replace a guy in the top 6 and I don't think Monohan does that for alot of teams. Also a guy like Jarnkrok went for a late second, third and seventh. Different type of player but I would say Monohan is worth more. There have also been guys with similar numbers to Monohan, albeit a couple years older, go for late picks.

How many times on here do wild fans have to tell Montreal Guerin literally doesn't like sean Monahan and that this will never ever happen. Like enough already. Also alex isn't waiving and our gm will not give up a 1st for rental

Literally the guy is trying to tell you to trade Monahan elsewhere. Guerin hates , dislike Sean Monahan. And like wild fans have told Montreal fans so so so many times, this will never happen. Apparently Montreal fans can't accept no

I don't read every treads, how do you know Gurerin hates Monahan ? I'm curious.
Monahan probably go to COL, they are in need of a top 6 C

He's over exaggerating and being hyperbolic.

Guerin doesn't hate Monahan. It's just been stated by our beat writer Michael Russo many times over the last two years, either through his articles or podcasts, that he has no interest in him.

I mean the fact that Guerin wouldn't even take a 1st round pick for him this summer as Russo tweeted states to reason it's more personal than any of us knows
