Quick Re-Tool

Created by: Ennis
Team: 2022-23 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 14, 2022
Published: Dec. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Honestly, the Jackets have great assets, and don't need to tear it down. Just a simple re-tool that acquires picks in this years stacked draft class.

Also, what happened to Voracek is unfortunate. I put him on LTIR as there is a chance he may never play again. (or at least for the rest of this season)

As for Texier, I put him on LTIR, his cap hit won't go against the team for the season.
Trades
1.
CBJ
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Puljujarvi only being 24, could bring him onto the team and see what he does. If you don't like him, ship him off in the offseason
EDM
  1. Nyquist, Gustav ($2,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
50pt middle 6 forward, with retention could pull you a 2nd.
2.
CBJ
  1. Engvall, Pierre
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Roslovic, Jack ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
40+pt middle 6 forward at 3m, could provide useful for toronto.
3.
CBJ
  1. Turcotte, Alex
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
With being stacked down the middle with Denault, Lizotte, Byfield, AD, and guys who CAN play C in Iafallo, Kupari, Vilardi... I don't see them really needing Turcotte.
LAK
  1. Foudy, Liam
  2. Gavrikov, Vladislav ($1,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Gav is a useful top 4 shutdown. Is 27 and a rental, CBJ shouldn't really need him.

I know adding JP has come up a few times for CBJ, and it’s pretty mixed reaction; but, I’d be happy with that trade. A 2nd feels like the best case scenario for Gus at this point, so adding JP feels like gravy. I’d qualify him, see if he can rebound, and if not, just move on.

For Rosy, up the 3rd to a 2nd, and maybe swap out Engvall for Holl. We are already flush with Ws, and if we’re going to take on cap to balance the trade, I’d rather it be for a gamble at D than F.

For Vlad, I’d rather just trade him somewhere he will net a 1st. Turcotte hasn’t impressed that much since being drafted, and if his eventual fate is as a M6 C, I’d rather keep the roster spot for Sillinger.
Ennis, SK101, Viqsi and 1 other person liked this.

Nyquist definitely still gets you second rounder, but if I'm Edmonton I'm way more interested in Gavrikov.
Keeping pucks out of the net is a higher priority imo.

Edmonton should add Garikov. They desperately need defence.

I like all three of these returns for Columbus and the teams involved, but I’m not sure what’s going out from Columbus is right for each of those teams.
