Going to take more with retention. Going to need at least one additional A level asset.

Hard to see wings falling out of contention (wild card) so doubtful they move him, but Leafs should not pay more than this for bertuzzi. That’s a steep price for a rental; there are lots of other choices if wings demand more.

There are far better options out there than Bertuzzi, he's not getting half as much as you want. He's an always injured depth forward with some questionable character flaws.

He'll get a huge return, or he'll be re-signed. Yzerman isn't doing anyone any favors. If someone isn't willing to pay the price, look elsewhere.

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets filled first. There are many better options available and once they are all gone you will be left with scraps left. So resign a soon to be 28 year old for way too much and with too much term. Yzerman loves to do that.

we got a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Tatar a few years ago. Gotta think Bert is worth at least as much as that.

Cool, don't trade for him then. If the Leafs aren't willing to pay what he'll cost, someone else will. Watch.

I'd take it. Nice to get another asset for retention.

What's your problem. He's not a depth winger, he's a gritty top line (top6 at least) play driving forward. If Toronto traded for him they would sign him. They can't afford to sign nylander. He's not always injured, anyone in the nhl can get hurt blocking a shot. That doesn't really count as an injury history. He doesn't have consistent issues that keep him out of the lineup. He's also a playoff performer, something Toronto desperately needs.

Wouldn't a player have to make the playoffs first before being called a playoff performer? He's medium sized fish in a small pond.

Historically he has performed better in the playoffs. No reason to think he wouldn't in the NHL. He's that type of player.

He hasn't ever been to the playoffs. Historically speaking
