The buyout of his contract is also especially brutal. I don't know if SJ would do this but agree something drastic like a 1st would be needed

Goodrow isn't waiving for a Sharks team, that's heading for a full blown rebuild.

No need to throw him out like this, especially now when he is doing okay with Mika and Bread.

Cap will increase two years from now and will be easier contract to move. You are overreacting big time.

Sharks aren't taking that hideous contract back without retention. There's a sharks fan up there who said we would, i guess he can't read contracts!

Overreaction. That's what he's worth. Riddled with injuries, he's getting his groove back. He's a playoff warrior that we need, we would than have to look for another Goody type anyway. Last year he broke his foot blocking a shot in first playoff game, he would have made a Big difference! Blinders on, stat watching 101

Goodrow is on pace for 17 goals, 20 assists and 37 points, plus he can play any forward position, plays responsible D, plays physical and is a good PK guy, team leader with cup wins, plus will stand up for himself or a teammate anytime. His cap hit represents a whole 4.4% of the salary cap which means it is about 1/23rd of the total cap number. Yeah, who needs a guy like that???

correct me if I'm wrong but according to his buyout calculator
the buyout team would see the 1.3m cap hit 3 years beyond his contract end, out to 2030-31
That seems like cruel and unusual punishment

Yes or you keep him around for two more years, and when cap gone up you move him or buy him out. He is actually playing well with Mika and Bread right now, so I don't see any need to get all hysterical.

This is one of the silliest Ranger posts recently. Goodrow is worth what he is paid and the only thing dumber than trading him would be buying him out.

Goodrow is a playoff type player. If you dumped him you;d miss him in the playoffs
