Description

As much as I like Kane I think your paying more for the name than anything. I know, I know, he could contribute more with better line mates but personally I’d be putting him on the 3rd line anyway cause I feel like debrusk is playing very well at both ends this year and that line has chemistry. In conclusion would I like to see us have him because it really gives our old core a last dance? Yes, but I feel like this add guarantees nothing and the price for a team entering a retool/build is steep for the return.

Side note: I feel like his return won’t be that great considering he holds the cards. Constructive feed back would be nice but I doubt I’ll get it 😂

Yet you did. Then solicited doubtful ‘constructive’ feedback regarding an overpayment for a rental who you believe can make a difference. So here’s my attempt at constructive feedback:
I believe there are better choices IF Reilly can be dealt. Even keeping Smith would be better than giving up what you proposed for someone who I don’t think would be a good locker-room fit. Also I doubt he would be signed in Boston after he did! Both Frederick and Smith can get better and if Smith gets dealt you still have Greer and Wagner waiting in the wings. In a perfect world I would love to see Reilly, Smith, Wagner, a 23-3rd and 24-5th for Garnet Hathaway but NOBOBY is lining up to help the Bruins. Maybe closer to the TDL if the Bruins slide a bit but I hope THAT happens even less!

Hawks decline hard on that. Nobody wanted Smith for free. Beecher and late 1st does not get you Kane.
