NYR would do that if they are not a playoff team come TDL. And if Miller and Chytil resignings could become an issue.
Although I wanted to move Goody in the beginning of the season I had a change of mind.
He plays with a lot of heart.

Not sure he would accept to go to VAN, that is the main obstacle.

That Rangers trade is awful for the Canucks. I wouldn’t give up Schenn alone for those two. Goodrow is a 3rd liner signed way too long. Hajek has no use for us

HARD decline from the Pens. Don't get me wrong, I like Garland and think he has real value, but we're not trading our only legit prospect for him lol.

LOL. Goodrow is 10x's the player Schenn is, no chance the Rangers would do this.

Goodrow is a good player, but his contract isn’t good at all. ~3.65x5 for a 3rd liner who’s likely going to regress throughout the rest of his contract. Canucks have had their fair share of bad bottom 6 contracts with term, no need for another one

That's a legit concern but I would say he is only 29 and his contract ends when he is 33, so physically, it's still his prime years. He can play any forward position, set a person high in goals and scoring last year and is on pace to break both this year at 18 goals and 23 assists, plus he is very defensively responsible, is a very good PK guy, and stands up for his teammates whenever needed. IMO, he is worth what he is paid and I don't want the Rangers to trade him, period, and I don't think Drury will.

If cap space becomes an issue with Chytil and Miller playing better every game, I could see this deal making sense. Goodrow is a 2/3C who plays the right way. One of my favorite players on the Rangers.

There is a reason Goodie was one of the last guys on the ice ending the season. Cooper trusted him without question

If and when the cap space becomes that dire, I think Drury will find someone else to move, Goodrow is too valuable, and Drury loves him.

NYR accept this in a heartbeat. With the cap not projecting to go up, they’ll need every dollar. While yes, this hurts them long term, you can get a fourth line filler at the deadline for cheaper than a 1st. It would be great asset management on their part
