Well the Sens need to find a trade of Thomson and a 2nd and maybe one other small piece for a 2nd pair Dman. Thomson and JBD will never play at the same time and it’s a waste to keep both

I kinda think you overrate Fabbro. And if he was good value at 4.1m, you would think the Preds take him.
There are some short term alternative that might be better fit. Right against the cap with a 21 man roster and bonuses to pay...that's iffy.

I'm so tired of the Brannstrom disrespect. He's been one of Ottawa's best Dmen this year. He will be dirt cheap to re-sign and he's had excellent results offensively and defensively.

Isn’t basically the same team that is in 26th place currently? Are you expecting to compete or just treading water for one more year?

Brannstrom has been playing the best hockey of his career, but so many Sens fans decided in the offseason they were done with him.

This team beat Boston and Dallas when healthy . Norris out basically killed us. Plus Sanderson will be even better next year and more chemistry between the players. Greig will provide a boost and hopefully one more RD and no Hamonic/Zaitsev . And JBD 3rd pair

They've got most of the pieces, they really only need to fill out the blueline and get an NHL coach. Sens are where they are in the standings because it takes DJ Smith 8 weeks to realize the season had started every single year. Worst coach in the league.

Funny. Chabot, Sanderson and Zub are obviously better. But he’s been good in his role as a 3rd pair guy

Obviously as a Leafs fan - I hope it doesn’t happen but also don’t see it next year. A lot of teams between you and playoffs, and most of them on the upswing as well. Dorion’s made some pretty bad calls imo.
I hope the ownership gets settled and work on new arena starts ASAP b/c I know Ottawa is a hockey hotbed and an arena downtown would be awesome.
But I think it’ll be a few years for the SENs - might need to wait for bruins and Tampa to age out & fall off the pace 🤞; Atlantic is brutal

Our young players will continue to get better . Next year they could make the playoffs if they play it right and get a top 4 RD. Offensively this team is really good even without Norris. They just need some defence and additions by subtraction

Maybe, but I didn’t see it this past summer and I don’t see it next year. In a few years, possible - would love the battle of Ontario to resume but Sabres & wings are looking good too. Like I said, Atlantic is brutal

Sens offence needs absolutely nothing besides Formenton or a Formenton replacement and Greig coming up pushing a guy like Motte to the 4th line.

Defence is starting to look good with 3 top 4Ds and bottom pairing are easy to get and we have Brann/JBD/Thomson for that. Defence just needs a partner for one of Sanderson or Chabot.

Fabbro is just not the kind of player that's going to help imo. He's not any different than Brannstrom. I think they need experience more than anything in a 2nd pair D to go with Sanderson.

If that’s the case then Nick Jensen is exactly the only one we need. Do anything to get him here

I was taught to think about the less fortunate on Christmas.
