I'm intrigued as a Caps fan. I love Nylander. But I wonder if Caps just wait a year to get him in UFA.

I think the Caps would say yes, IF Nylander can be resigned and IF Backstrom is truly LTIRetired.

Could be wrong, but I am pretty sure Meier's QO starts at $9.5m.

Sorry, was wrong - it's actually $10m. Not sure why he'd take $1.75m less as an RFA

The 10M QO is for one year. Timo would take a long term deal at a much lower AAV.

Sharks would easily take this offer.
