Canes aren't trading Cale Makar along with Trikozov and a first for Horvat

In before Canes fans rip you apart for suggesting they trade Morrow who is going to be better than Makar apparently.

And ya Carolina isn’t a destination for Horvat even tho they don’t have a legit 2C behind Aho

is this guy really that good? not too up to date on canes prospects but figured a first and two former 2nds is a good price

He’s got good numbers in university but Canes fans think he’s better than Makar since he got more points in his first season than Makar did at the same school. Only time will tell how good he will be but putting him up with Makar without even playing in the NHL or AHL yet is… well I don’t want to get another warning here

Myers, Tyler
Stillman, Riley
Pearson, Tanner

You really think these players will net you a 2/3? Please share why

Source citation please.

To my recollection, no insider had linked the Canes to Horvat, just rampant Canuck fan speculation

This isn’t entirely true. A very loud and hyperbolic Canes fan is making those claims. The rest of us are just saying how high the organization is on Morrow and that we don’t make these kind of trades.

Canes pass. You're not getting either of those prospects for Horvat. Canes already have Necas to do what Horvat does if they want a 2C upgrade. They're happy with Stastny, Kotkaniemi and Jordan Staal behind Aho (who they just won 7 straight games without)

Interesting. Find a source that says they're in on Horvat. Anyone. Because that is complete and utter speculation too. In fact, the Canes GM himself came out and said they're not going to be spending big at the deadline. No need, no cap with Pacioretty still pending activation. There's no one that has a concrete link to Horvat, just Sportsnet trying to stir sh*t up. Feel free to go find a source that says otherwise, but until then, don't say they're rumored to be in on Horvat because that is just wrong.

It’s more than just one Canes fan saying that. And just because a GM hasn’t done something yet doesn’t mean they won’t. Not saying it will happen but you can’t be certain

The Canes mgmt team would have to flip their entire philosophy over and contradict everything they say in interviews to make a move like that for Horvat. Could it happen? sure. will it happen? Its so small of a chance that I am more than comfortable saying no it won’t happen.

If you want to number lines, then sure we don’t have a ‘2C’. Nobody wants to admit it, but Jordan Staal is centering the best 5v5 line in Hockey.

Canes are a legit cup contender and haven’t even played their best hockey yet. If Kochetkov actually is the dude, and can give game winning goal tending in the playoffs - the Canes have what they need to win.

ive seen mutiple reports stating him as a possible destination, along with pretty much every other playoff team. and besides that not hard to cnnect the dots and see down the middle is the weakness of that team and if they are going all in thag would be the logical position to upgrade. makes sense if horvat is out of their price range tho, but like i said in the post, whatever team steps up with the best package

Myers owed $1mil in real money while making 6 mil against the cap. that is extremely atractive to cap floor teams like ARZ. he also plays the right side which ups the value. if hamonic got a third with 2 yrs left while being owed more money than myers (not cap) Myers can get atleast a 2nd. other 2 gone for depth picks

Buddy, C isn't their issue. Do yourself a favor and go and look at Martin Necas' production this year. They could have that at C for free if they wanted. They don't. They don't want a Horvat. If they wanted center help, they'd likely look at ROR before Horvat. He's not good defensively, he's a meh skater, and he's not a fit for a RBA system. They need another top-nine winger. They need some bottom pair help. They don't need Horvat.

He's a turnover machine and a possession drain. AZU isn't a cap floor team next year and needs a player, not 6'8" of dead weight. Ask ANA for "at least a 2nd" tears of joy

Can I interest you in a Travis Boyd? He's been a 2C and 2RW last 2 years

And? Being a top 6 player on the Coyotes doesn't counts as being a top-six player

So you’ve seen multiple, delusional Canuck fansites list CAR as a destination or perhaps you saw that ridiculous Sportsnet article from a few weeks ago suggesting Jarvis + for Horvat, nothing with any substance. Got it.

Thanks for proving that there’s no such link out there other than wishful thinking from VAN fans.
