Could be intriguing because of Voit and his year so far but I don’t think Verbeek does it because his size which he made clear he wants due to his drafting in 2022 — not a guy under 6’2

I still think Rico gets a 23 1st 50% retained and his play has only kept me thinking that

Admitting the trade makes the Leafs potentially better this season. Even the value of 2.9m is good. But the Leafs just might want to spend that 2.9m in different ways next season.

I would not move Roni in this scenario.

I like this trade a lot as an Anaheim fan. I also like this for Toronto too. This definitely would make Toronto deep down the middle and for not just this year but next year too and for a really good price. I like the prospects Anaheim would receive and the draft pick is good too. I think a first would be too much in my opinion if we are getting the 2 prospects. Great trade man.

If the draft pick we're getting is only a future second, I would hold out for one A prospect like Topi Niemela rather than two B prospects. Henrique still has value (see last night's box score) and I think we could get a future first for him with 50% retention.

Welcome to CapFriendly in general and the enthusiastic cadre of Ducks supporters in particular!! You'll meet the two recent new fathers in that fraternity soon. smile

I like this too. I think getting one higher graded prospect is better than receiving two mid tiered prospects. Maybe the 1st round pick would be a conditional pick. I just find it hard to believe we could receive a 1st for Henrique, like yes he is having a nice season with us but idk is it inflated bc he is playing with Z and Terry?? I can also see Toronto being desperate for any improvement too, and they would over pay for anything right now just to get passed the 1st round lol.

Total package value may be there, but with one of the strongest prospect systems in the league, were really looking for A level prospects, not a grab bag of B level guys that likely get lost in our system.

Robertson and the 24 2nd I would be interested in. While he is undersized like the other two, he has the ceiling to become a top line winger which is what Anaheim needs. His injury history and how Toronto fans are salivating over Knies may make him somewhat more expendable as well.

Otherwise, you can look at adjusting the prospects, but what Anaheim needs is a top line LW with you taking Henrique, a top 4 RHD with size and defensive focus, and possibly a top for LHD with the same attributes.
