Capped out (with a player to fill) & major-poverty-of-the-CENTRE-position...

GM101: Be strong up the middle or you'll be working on your golf game come April!

Ducks decline and you still gave 4.5m in bonus overages to account for.

Doubt we accept this

Beecher has no value and we could sign a guy like Forbort in FA

Half a PPG player in the NCAA, yeah, his NHL future looks bright.

A 4th liner and a NHL maybe for a known NHL middle 6 center doesn't seem like a wise move when we can get 4th liners anywhere this off season for cheap.

Got something in defensive D, specifically right shot, or a top 6 capable LW prospect, those things would be of interest to us.

Pasta has to get a new BOS deal and I'd try to get him signed right now ($10-11M).
Prime C UFAs are Larkin/Horvat which will not fit the Cap crunch.
It'll be something with 'holes' as you have above or they use FA to get experience, cheap but declining centreman (eg Pav's who's still effective)...

It's pretty hard to make the case right now that Beecher has more upside than Brett Leason and he was a waiver claim and playing in the NHL. Or Brayden Tracey who the Ducks already have in the system taken one pick before Beecher.

Nothing about Beecher makes me want to trade a legit bottom six NHL center for him. Forbort is a more interesting piece in this trade, but he's 30 yrs old and a UFA after next season. Reminds me a lot of Kulikov... a guy that got traded for FC's in a hard cap choice. Kind of like the hard cap choices Boston is going to have to make.

I’d happily take him in a FC deal this off-season for the B’s to resign Pasta though!
