I'd think it would have to be at least top 10 protected in this deep of a draft

Agreed. On the other hand if the pick isn't in the top 15 it might take more than just a first to both get Murphy and dump Zaitsev. It probably takes a late first (maybe a bit more) to acquire Murphy and another late first to dump Zaitsev. The question is if a mid first is worth 2 late (but likely not *very late) firsts or not?

Can't see Ottawa giving up a first rounder for Murphy. A good (not elite) prospect but not a first rounder so can't see this one going through.

No chance Ottawa gets Connor Murphy and gets rid of Zaitsev for only a 1st.
