I thought Foote was doing ok in Tampa last year, what happened

No issues with the trade just curious

Just doesn't make sense to weaken TB's weakest position (RD) to strengthen an already strong foward group.

He makes Pat Maroon look like a speed skater

This might be a better off season deal.

1. Cal didn't really boost that depth by a noticeable amount

2. Nick Perbix will replace him

3. We are losing Vladdy and Corry Perry next year most likely

4. All of are top defensemen prospect are RHD, plus we have Philippe Myers if they aren't ready (use that however you want)

Neither Thompson nor Schmidt are in play this season , and Myers for any length of time during the playoffs is soo terrifying as to be unthinkable. He was so bad Nashville didn't even want him on their AHL team they loaned him to the Marlies. 31 other GMs passed on him for free twice. As I said a bit earlier this in the off season might be doable not now.
Vladdy they can easily find a replacement player Perry probably resigns cheap again.

I would do this if I were making decisions for the Avs. Kaut is ok, but Foudy has surpassed him on the depth chart, and Olausson projects to be better at the same position as soon as next season. It makes a good deal of sense for the Avs imo.
