Bill Guerin ain't no fool!! WAY too much for the Wild to give up. Boldy is a non-starter, probably Wallstedt too but certainly Boldy.

I certainly sympathize with your desire to get the best return for two of the Hawks' heart-and-soul dynasty creating talents, but for the Wild that is straight whack lol. I think the Kraken would absolutely entertain taking Toews for Morgan Geekie, Francis probably drops the phone and accidentally hangs up while trying to dance a little. Unless Ryker Evans is a superstud in the making or something and I just don't know. Oh yeah, but aside from Francis dancing, he'll remember he doesn't have the cap space for this one smile

The Wild aren’t giving up that much for Kane. One of those prospects probably Rossi and then a 1st would do it

That'd be a big overpay for a couple expensive rentals, especially with no retention.

I love the Seattle Toews deal, if only it were even cap hits going each way. The chance for the Kraken to use Toews to help them make the playoffs and perhaps even win a first round series against Calgary or Edmonton (or L.A.) would be too dang enticing and mean too much to the franchise to not take. I get that the chances are the Kraken regress a bit next season if they reach such a high, but it would still be worth it as a second year team. The experience gained by a young guy like Beniers having Toews in the dressing room could be huge too, and for Wright if he makes it back on to the team, particularly in a playoff round.

Alas, the cap.

The Wild aren't giving up even one of those players for Kane. If they were interested it would be a first and maybe a guy like Lambois or O'Rourke. But only if they really feel they have a chance.

I had read that Rossi was kind of falling out of favor in Minny. Anyone with better knowledge on it?? Just looked.. point per game in the AHL.. hm.

They expected him up this year. He's got lots of time, and will be a good top 6 center in the future. I'm not sure he's out of favor more that they are just a bit disappointed that he isn't making an impact this year like Boldy did last year.

He hasn't fallen out of favor at all.

They originally sent him down to gain some confidence, but then both Dewar and Shaw have forced and solidified their spots on the roster and have become arguably Minnesota's best two PK'ers. They're simply not going to be sent down, as they both require waivers. With both Hartman, and soon Duhaime, coming back from injuries. There simply isn't enough room on the roster going foward this season for Rossi to get called back up.

Which sucks for him, but plans change.

The worst that happens is Rossi overbakes in the AHL for a little while and gets to play top six minutes and PP time. Something he wasn't going to get with the big club this year anyway. So it may be better for his development anyway.

But you're right on the money Dutchies, none of those 3 would be available for Kane. I'd hesitate on sending Lambos too. But one of Hunt, Peart, or O'Rourke could definitely be available or used.

Thanks for the extra input and info! .. if the Hawks ask for Liam Ohgren, does Guerin "accidentally" hit the end call button?

Short answer: Yes!

Long Answer: The Wild can't afford to be moving out forward prospects for Rentals, we don't have the depth. Especially winger prospects.

We're better off moving defensive prospects where we have the depth to take the hit and they all can't make it onto the roster but look like they're going to be NHL'ers.
