If you ask me, a rebuild would force the team to move off the Island. We have enough attendance/arena woes as is, could you imagine how much of our fan base would lose interest if we lost Tavares and said "we won't be winning a Cup for at least another decade"? Attendance would plummet and any arena we'd try to move in to, buy or build in the New York area would say no to us.

A lot of people say we need a rebuild, but I think a rebuild would mean a move to a big market city we'd have all to ourselves. This is part of the reason the NHL wants to keep the Isles in NY so badly; they'd rather have the 32nd NHL team have that big market city all to themselves than watch an older franchise fail and move there.

sorry but Marner for Leddy, Bailey, and a 7th? Maybe more like Hickey, Barzal, and a 1st i'd say.
