Hard pass on that MTL trade, have you been watching Krebs?

Yes I have. What does he do? (and yes, I saw that pass last night. Fresh legs vs. a tired group of players from both sides.)

I don’t think Acciari moves unless it’s a really great return. Just sign him.

Good point, but I'd need to put him on the 4th line for this season in this scenario. Always like him as a player and wonder what he'd fetch for STL in a trade.

I’m convinced he’s getting re-signed, but I don’t see why he couldn’t get like a 2nd round pick back. That seems to be the rate for guys like him.

Edit: now that I look back on last deadline, a 3rd would’ve been more reasonable.

Lybushkin strikes me as someone who would not play well on his off hand.

Watch more than the post game highlights, everything he does on and off the puck has improved while with Girgensons and Okposo and he's inherited their work ethic, he's also is just turning 22

Sabres aren’t gonna trade Krebs for Savard though,
so u won’t have to worry about that
Savard could be had for one of our extra 2nds

If not, there’s other RD out there that could be

Much to your dismay, I just rewatched every one of his shifts vs. the Wild on espn+ (and have rewatched portions of many Sabres games.) The reason I did that was to re-check what I have believed to be true dating back to his time in Rochester--for a supposed elite-leaning set-up man whose potential rides mostly on his passing, he looks average at best in that department. Also, if you watch what goes on when he, Gus and Okposo are out there, you'll find that the latter two do all the work. It's amazing how much skating he does without touching the puck and when he does get it, his passes on way too many occasions put his teammates in difficult positions, are deflected away or end up in the possession of the opposition.

Sure, he's just shy of 22 yrs. old and he may just be finding his way but I can't see him being more than a bottom-six forward. If you have something that can convince me otherwise, I'd like to hear it.

As a habs fan I would love to get Krebs but I don't think they are gonna trade our only reliable RD

Savard is a top-four defensive-defenseman who'll remain solid while logging 20 minutes/gm. He's also under contract for two more years at a reasonable cap-hit of $3.5M.

He's worth more than a 2nd rounder, therefore former first rounder Krebs as a main piece.

Girgensons and Okposo have been bad and put themselves in bad spots, Krebs has to deal with that, he can put it to a good spot but if no one is there it doesnt matter. You're also self admittedly biased ("The reason I did that was to re-check what I have believed to be true dating back to his time in Rochester") so, hopefully understandably, I can't take your opinions at face value, and there are no stats in that comment to compare and contrast. Over the last 10 games we've seen improvement from him and it's clear Granato agrees as he's gone from 7 minutes a night at the start of December to 17 minutes last night and 2 goals 5 points in his last 10 from the 4th line with bad linemates (he must have taken his voluminous skating without the puck abilities from Girgensons). This while Olofsson and Jost were playing well as well and could have cut into his ice time. So it seems in Granato's opinion he's improved and if we're comparing opinions, obviously I'm going to side with the coach in the NHL over a guy on the internet.

Figured I'd touch a nerve with this. Krebs has improved, never said he didn't. His play has been better but from what I've seen on numerous occasions, Gus and Okposo do 90% of the grunt work, and they don't mind because that's just how they play. Go ahead, watch the replay of any game, or wait until Monday night. See how his linemates battle along the boards and look to where he is. See how many times his passes are off the mark. What it comes down to is this: It's my opinion that Krebs will top out as a bottom-six forward and am still waiting to be convinced otherwise. My ACGM trade has him going to MTL for Savard. I like it and think Savard in a top-four role will add more to the team over the next 2+ seasons than Krebs.

Thats pretty vague as the Sabres have Thompson and Cozens 1 2 for the next 8 years, if Krebs ends up a 50-60 pt 3C you can still declare you were right all along.

Krebs has been showing a lot of jam lately, and he's been putting up some points as centering that line did wonders for his stats. Prior to him joining Gus and Okposo on Dec. 7 (at CBJ) he registered 0 goals, 3 assists (0.16 pts/gm) and a minus-5 rating. After that line was formed, he added 3+3 in 12 games (0.50 pts/gm) with a plus-5 rating.

That's good, and it's helping the team win. Which is also good.

Montreal *needs* Savard right now, but this is likely a trade you make then figure it out later. It's not the right move for Montreal, but it's a value move.
We are looking for a top pairing RHD and that's not Savard anyway, so it doesn't change much in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe a 2nd + another pick
He’s not at all worth Krebs & there’s no reason we can’t attain him with just picks, which we have plenty of
