What would Laf cost

Description
Rumours say Canucks are interested in Alexis Lafrenière, which makes sense. He seems like the type of guy you’d want to bet on and could explode in a situation where he can get more opportunity.
The framework for this deal is probably the Dach trade, a mid round 1st and a 2nd, but the Cancucks are in no position to trade draft picks.
That fact might make a Laf trade difficult, but that being said Rangers fans do you find any of these proposals intriguing?

Nothing because he's apparently part of the plan for NY. I don't even want him if I'm being honest. His skating is not good enough for the NHL.

Horvat with 50% retained plus Podkolzin, Hoglander and 3 years of 1st round picks.

Horvat (50% retained with an extension + Podkolzin would be the essential pieces with us taking back Goodrow as well, but they still might not be able to make the cap work.

Moot point since rumors have teams thinking of an underpay. Based on what some writers are saying for the Rangers to start talking about a Laffy trade, an unprotected 2023 1st-round pick would need to be on the table. It is also doubtful that it would happen during the season,

I don’t see any deal that another team would be willing to make. For us I’d rather roll the dice with him unless a top 6 center under 22 on an ELC was coming back (think someone like Lundell from Florida). Obviously no one would do that, but there’s nothing else super interesting imo, maybe a top 10 pick, but again no one would do that. I’d personally have zero interest in acquiring someone over 25 or that makes a lot of money given our cap situation. The return would also need to be of value in the future as well, which imo is why a Horvat deal would not work.

This is probably an accurate assessment of a Laf trade. Only thing I see that could change is if MTL traded both 1sts for him. But outside of that I don’t see him being moved for rentals for sure, and the deal would have to include an ELC 3 year player for them to consider it

When you make an answer that is clearly an insane overpayment then yes you’re being dramatic

Does the same hold true if you post a trade that is insane?

If it’s a slight overpayment I wouldn’t think you’re being dramatic but if it’s not even remotely in the ballpark you’re being dramatic. Same would go for anyone else including me

It is as legit as the proposed trade.
