I doubt Florida trades with a rival in its own division

Look where that got them they potentially gave MTL a top 10 pick

I agree, I just hope they think about recouping assets after completely draining their system for the next few years.

If the panthers trade vergs it’s gonna be for something much better than that.

I’m sure they dont give two sh ts about that. They’re trying to compete now not get rid of their better players for nothing.

They wont get more than that trust me. A 1st a 2nd a good RD prospect and useful bottom 6 player is what most if not all teams will offer

Hes not on a steal of a contract like Hagel nor is on par with LW's like Meier. If Florida was offered that package Zito would take it. But it would not be with a divisional rival

I don't make that deal for TOR. Bad asset management IMO.

A very late first and second. A b prospect. And he makes like 800k more. On a higher offense team. He’d get more.

-Verhaeghe's averaged better than 30 goals and 60 pts/82 GP since joining the Panthers - if they put him up on the open market, I'm pretty sure they get better than a late 1st/next year's 2nd/B prospect for his remaining 2x$4.17M. There's also the fact that if they're moving guys with big AAVs, it's going to be for cap relief this year - and sending back Kerfoot means they're only saving about $665K. Value just doesn't make sense for Florida, either way.

-Justin Braun got traded, without retention, for a 3rd last year. He's definitely having a rough go of it this year, but if all you're throwing Philly is a 6th *and* you're asking them to retain, they're gonna tell you to pound sand.
