I really hope he doesn't ask to leave. I really wish Benning had signed him to a longer contract than just 3 years. He's got a lot of skill and what I like most about him is that he plays a really good 2-way game. He can be out there on the poweplay and be very effective while he is also very strong on the PK. He's probably our best player right now and I would hate to see him go

i honestly cant see him leaving. you would think the organization would do whatever needed to keep him happy. as a pens fan i would love to see crosby pass the torch to him.

Guentzel is great, but the Canucks already have too many wingers. If Pettersson asked out it would be a full on rebuild, so picks and top prospects would be the ask. And personally I just don’t think Pittsburgh has the prospects to pull that type of deal off

Going to take a hell of a lot more than that. Hue tale is not needed and is just too old to fit the Canucks. They would likely have to immediately flip him. The pens just don’t have anything of that much value to get Pettersson

pens would have the picks but not the prospects. and at this point the organization needs those picks for the hell thats coming.

Damn you are really undervaluing Jake Guentzel

Guentzel is good but doesn't make sense if the Canucks are trading Petterssen. Petey's younger, plays a more premium position, and is just as (if not more) productive. If the Canucks are moving him, it's the bellwether for a complete and total teardown. Taking back a veteran player with term, no matter how good they are, isn't the type of move they should be making - they should be getting picks and prospects, alllll the picks and prospects you can send.
