I really don’t know about this one. Did Mcmann play that good to you and why not add a huge acquisition at the deadline.

This isn’t my team after the Deadline this is just how i see the team lining up for now(Knies inculded), Also yes McMann looked fantastic to me today, toe to toe with one of the most physical teams in the league, showed great poise, playmaking & speed. definitely a guy i want on the Leafs 4th Line

Title's ACGM - Bottom 6 Brilliance with no moves

Then proceeds to move Kerfoot

The trade isn't bad Kerfoot is a decent 3C, just pointing out the irony in the title.

Would it not be a better move though for the Leafs to move out Holl as well instead of having a 2 mil player sitting in the pressbox wasting valuable cap space?

He's not the leafs 3C, that's Kampf's spot.

Look something different and shiny! The grass is not always greener. McMann was fine but he literally did nothing. Fast skater in straight lines but does nothing special. He's fine. Doesn't move the needle but of course let's move Kerfoot who's been and is much better because we just have to make a move eh? We need to change something for the sake of changing something

It would be better to keep Kerfoot and Holl and stop thinking those two highly effective players are problems.

Unless we get ROR, then he'll move down a slot and be our 2nd shutdown centre.

Oh I wasn't saying either are problems both are decent depth players, I was just saying for cap flexibility one need to be moved and I would rather have better center depth and call up a D man if needed

That's fine but he also plays LW and if Kampf goes down then he is a great alternative. That being said, I get why the OP went this route I just think good center depth is harder to find than a 7th or 8th D man

You sacrifice physicality with both of them, I rather give that spot to someone tougher to play against that being said I really like Holl but Kerf isn’t needed anymore Jarnkrok fills his role easily so I rather dump that 3.5 & use that to get a real upgrade (Something KD should’ve done in the Summer)

I agree but when it comes to C depth i say Steeves can step in or Jarnkrok if need be, even Engvall has had decent numbers in a center role

I’ve watched McMann for years Bud, stop acting like i’m some idiot on here cause i’n not. McMann played a fast & effective game against one of the hardest teams in the league, he was on par physically & skill wise with Nashville, that’s fantastic for the Bottom 6.Might be a surprise to you but McMann has been playing this kind of style for years & is a great addition to the roster, he was someone i thought could make the team out of pre-season, he was someone Keefe coveted during the preseason & the only reason he hasn’t gotten a shot sooner was injury, he is some of the best xGF% in the AHL as well as a respectable OiSA as well. I’m saying he is better then people who are getting paid 3.5 to bobble chances & do cardio for 12 minutes a night

Oh yes the old "hits!!!!!" Argument. Kerfoot is loads better than McMann and only an idiot moves better players to appease the Hits crowd

If you genuinely think McMann is worse then Kerfoot you have 0 reason to make another post or comment on CF or anywhere about Hockey again. I rather pay someone >1 Mil then over <3 for the same job. McMann isn’t a scrub understand that physicality is a massive part of hockey & Kerf gets bodied by big teams. McMann doesn’t he’s the type of guy who gets stuff done for the bottom 6

Your the champion of the Dubas does everything right fan club. Also this is still the Leafs system not another team, this isn’t the grass being greener it’s the same lawn just one had miracle grow. Just Accept Keeping Kerf was a mistake, plus a 2nd in this deep draft is huge I’d move Pierre,Kerf or Holl in a heartbeat for that

Dude, you see everyone not on the current lineup as better than what we have. All the time. Domi? He's legit a defensive liability who isn't tough but he's not a leaf so he's better than everyone in the bottom 6.

I think Dubas has made a very good team. Sure he's made some mistakes, but Kerfoot, Holl and Engvall certainly are not mistakes. All 3 have provided great value to the leafs. Kerfoot who you keep crapping on, is a terrific penalty killer, can play anywhere and is great in the room.

Kerfs minutes & role can be taken by Jarnkrok without question, I rather add someone with an element of physicality & defensive reliability at a cheaper price then keep Kerf,The PK is still fine Kampf/Marner , Jarnkrok/Engvall not an issue, as for McMann it isn’t the grass being greener it’s the fact he has looked solid in the A & had a very good showing yesterday in a Bottom 6 Role, people told me the same about Holmberg when i wanted him on the roster now he’s a mainstay. Sorry That I Watch Marlies Games As Well As Leaf Games

Except Jarnkrock until recently certainly didn't look good. And the AHL is not the NHL. Hence why many career AHLer's never make it in the NHL. Kerfoot would be utterly dominant in the AHL and is a good player in the NHL. Everyone in hockey isn't better than him.

The funniest part of the game was that McMann did look good, and often after getting set up by Kerfoot. I do like McMann but he's not better than Kerfoot. He's definitely a serviceable bottom 6 player, but he's similar to others we have. Hunt, ZAR, McMann, Anderson they are all pretty much the same. Zar the most useful of the bunch.
