Can't see the Devils going for a meh guy for a 3rd. Going to be a dime a dozen for last fit guys there. More so they will go for a 7th D that is a veteran like Kulikov

Think the McCabe deal is little light.

The Boeser trade is not enough for the Canucks. The others look pretty good, though.

I get that you aren’t a Sabres fan,
but i think the only one that has a possibility of happening is McCabe

Don’t think the Sabres will be interested in him anyways

U aren’t gonna get a 1st for him
Idk that the Sabres even give up a 2nd tbh?
Obviously we know him well- and while i like him, he does have his limitations & considering we’d be using him to stabilize our 3rd pair- idk that we’d give up too much for him

I like McCabe and wouldn't mind that deal. I have no interest in trading a first for a goalie when they have UPL who is playing well, and hopefully Levi too.

There is a lot of room between a 1st and a very late 2nd. It doesn't matter where he'd end up on Buffalo, it's what the market says. There could be some interest from Kings and Oilers for him.

It ABSOLUTELY matters where the Sabres would play him
Bc they would be more willing to pay more for a partner for Power (for example) on the 2nd pair, who will play 20+ minutes a night VS a guy who would play on the 3rd pair 15min a night

Of course, there could be other teams that might be willing to pay more- but that doesn’t mean the Sabres will get into a bidding war- they’d just look elsewhere

If the market says we have to pay a high 2nd to get McCabe,
I think we’d be out of the running & go after a different defenseman

I get it. If you're looking for a 3rd pair guy, that isn't McCabe.

We’re looking for good players
I do think he’d be of interest to us
He’s played here before & always said nice things about Buffalo
And he’d be a stabilizing force on our 3rd pair- even though he’s 2nd pair quality
With him on the 3rd pair, we could always play that pair more if Power (2nd pair) is having a tough night

I just don’t think we’d win a bidding war (if there is one) for him
