Description

Apparently Matha is not longer wanted in Washington, and they are looking to clear his salary. I saw a post suggesting this trade, but I wanted to hear what Caps fans think of it.

I know a lot of people don't want Anderson (I think he's over rated), but GMs apparently love him, and I think a swap deal like this could work out for both sides.

Why is WSH paying 2024 1OA?

Mantha is the better player with less term...

Absolutely not. Not only is Mantha better than Anderson and has less term, there is nothing to truly suggest that Washington wants to clear space or wants to trade Mantha, outside of a small report by Sammi Silber that Caps management wasn't supper happy with Mantha. Carlson will be on LTIR for a long period of time and Mantha is playing decent hockey despite being with Eller most nights, so no reason to trade him for a more expensive and worse player (and adding a 1st in? good heavens)
