St Louis Swap

Created by: brgh4life
Team: 2022-23 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2023
Published: Jan. 17, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure what other corresponding moves would have to be made, but I think a Teddy for Barbashev swap would do wonders for our 3rd line. I know we lose an elite PK guy, but the lack of production from the 3rd line is killing us.

Yeah I don't see the appeal in this for the blues. Bluegar is a UFA at the end of the season. All the blues are getting is a late 3rd which isn't much at all. Rather just keep barbashev and try to re-sign him than trade him for a late 3rd
AC14 and myboykole liked this.

Venture to guess this gets outbid. Would imagine they shoot for at minimum a 2nd and a 3rd

You guys would be in the know more than I would, but last I heard he was asking too much and St. Louis had some tough choices to make with their cap constraints next year. I figured Teddy would be cheaper to resign, get a few months to check him out, and get pick out of it.

There has been no reports of any contract talks or him asking too much from any of our local reporters. With us most likely losing ROR and Tarasenko we have more than enough room to sign him to a contract

All I could find was an article from November by the Hockey Writers saying they weren't sure St. Louis had the money so I had no idea.

I’d imagine Kap and a 2 might be a better offer
