Canucks pass, Bruins really don't have the pieces for a Pettersson trade

Not even close. The only way the Bruins would be able to get Pettersson is if McAvoy was coming to Vancouver

laugh laugh Talk about living in a fantasy world, On the Elias Pettersson trade. Too bad Boston doesn't have the pieces for Pettersson. And this would easily be beaten.

A trade for EP40 is likely similar to the EIchel trade. Lysell (Krebs) Carlo (Tuch) 2 first and a mid round pick. Yes, this package likely gets declined but if Vancouver wants to move Petterson this is roughly the return they are getting leaguewide, add in a Beecher or a Merkulov and its hard to imagine any team giving up more for him.

Pettersson hasn’t requested a trade, and isn’t in need of major neck surgery. He’s also been better this season than Eichel has any season of his career. Pettersson gets a better return than Eichel if he’s moved (less than 1% chance that happens though)

Pettersson is younger, better, cheaper, and doesn't require major career threatning surgery. He also hasn't requested a trade. Eichel demanded out

I agree with you on a lot here- but I think you are letting your bias cloud your judgment a bit. While I agree VAN should not trade him, EP40 is very much comparable to Eichel-it can be argued that Eichel was actually thought of as being a tier or 2 above what Petterson believed to be now due to having no help in BUF. While I agree that the neck surgery was covered a great deal in the media, the process itself was a low-risk procedure that the media was overhyping to create controversy. GMs knew that and made offers accordingly. You have to bear in mind that this trade proposal assumes VAN is moving on from Petterson (when they should not even be taking calls on him in the first place), but if they do decide to fully blow up the core they will likely get something similar to this package in return.

Just responded to NV94 on this, I agree with you on a lot here but I feel like Petterson is getting overvalued just like Eichel was on this website

Canucks are not trying to trade Pettersson. He is untouchable. It will have to take an overpay to pry him from Vancouver, that is why

which is something I address in my response to the other guy. I believe the trade is assuming VAN decides to move on from EP (Which they should not)
