For one, Karlsson is getting old, you have 2-3 years before he really regresses. It's a crazy overpay for Calgary, he are not doing great, I think that's a gimme for SJS, but a horrible trade for CGY.

Timo Meier is the player Calgary wants out of SJ but he's a rental with a huge QO so a 1st and a B prospect is about all he's worth to us. Even then you'd have to take Looch as part of the return to make the cap work.
