Spend the money on an impact RHD, (not Montour, that was a one off season) and don't bother with the Vatrano trade.</div></div>
Totally forgot lmfao, mb on that one.

I think that isn't really true. Forsberg is the only goalie they can move, and they can get a younger, better goalie who isn't coming off of two different MCL injuries, they'll do it.

Big man for Chicago and futur for Ottawa at draft
Both teams say no, Chicago's picks are very valuable, and they aren't in a position to be anywhere near winning yet. As for Ottawa, Tkachuk is the face of the franchise, and is the captain and fan favourite. He's also insanely valuable and wants to stick it out in Ottawa, and might I add Ottawa is still in a position to win with a retool, and trading their franchise piece and fan favourite for futures.

Ottawa Overhaul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>Sanderson isn't an offensive defenseman....He's more of a defensive guy. Doesn't think the game offensively all that well. Defensively though he's great with his positioning and being able to use his feet. Brodin doesn't help our PP at all which needs to improve if we're to get better. Vegas (Pietrangelo), Col (Makar), TB (Hedman/Sergachev), Pit (Letang)..... See the pattern? You need a go-to offensive defenseman. Sanderson maxes out at 50 points. As it is we don't really have a top end offensive defenseman. Just outside of Zub we don't really have any good defenseman defensively either....</div></div>
Actually that does make sense, but I do really like what Sanderson brings offensively. I think we can still use Chabot to quarterback the power play, but I think what Brodin brings is stabilazies our defense 5 on 5 and on the PK which hasn't been great at times. Sanderson is what i'd tier as a 2 way defender, but I do, like I said, think he brings some good offense as well. I think using Chabot less 5 on 5 and more for the power play could be a good move, if we where to bring in a more defensive defender this off season. However I do really like some of the points you make.

EDM add D
No chance Ottawa takes this. For one, we are getting 0 players who can play in the NHL in all honesty. In addition to that, Chychrun is worth minimum a first round pick, and along with the retention you'd add those 2 other picks. If it's Broberg in the trade, and Ottawa retains 50%, OTT get's Broberg, 1st, 2nd and they'd consider.

Ottawa Overhaul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>This team is weaker than we were this season... We still have the issue of having 3 big money LD.....</div></div>
I disagree, we make the goaltending better 10 fold, and Brodin is a type of player we need. Pairing him with Sanderson works perfectly, as one is defensive and the other isn't. We also get a better 4C, and in my opinion 4th line is better, along with the 3rd. The 2nd line is a slight downgrade, but is more balanced. And the LHD point is fair, but Sanderson has played right before, and I don't see why he couldn't adjust and pair with Brodin.

Yeah that's why I mentioned in the description that it didn't really matter about what team got him, was more just to prove what I thought his value was. Thanks for noting that however!

Fair enough, could have added in a few extra trades there.

Honestly don't fully disagree, but we can also agree he's been pretty great this season. I don't really think D has been our biggest issue, but maybe just signing a cheap physical d man for our bottom line would help out. However I do really like Tarasenko, and I see him as a great vet to take this team to the promise land.

Actually really balanced, would not mind any of these moves for Ottawa. Maybe a few picks here and there for the other teams, but good job on the balancing.

Everyboddy wins
Why is Ottawa trading 2 firsts for that package. All players they receive are good, but they are giving up much younger talent who at their best serve the same role. Ottawa get's 2 years of Letang and Malkin at most, and Karlsson is good but isn't what the Senators need. If anyone is adding picks, it would be the Penguins, since they are already making their team half as old with this trade.

Oilers need a big 4th
Ottawa makes you their best friend. I'm a Senators fan, and even this is ridiculous. I doubt Edmonton even takes Kastelic for Ryan, let alone a 3rd. This would be the biggest fleece for the Senators in forever. Kastelic for a 5th, anything more is an overpay for any team.

No. Maybe add in an extra 2 firsts and Ottawa considers. He's a fan favourite and one of the best leaders in the league. He's also one of the best hitting forwards in the league.

3 way Chychrun
Ottawa blocks both teams numbers and never makes a trade with them again. Zub is never being moved, he's the best actual defender on the team, along with maybe Sanderson. There needs to be a minimum of 1 first for Chychrun alone, and Ottawa is practically doing Detroit a favour with Chiarot. No thanks.

I think if Calgary trades both those pieces, they'd want to receive more in the player departement. I don't mind Debrusk, but Mitchell doesn't do much for them, neither does Lauko, and Forbort has been very mediocre all things considered. Bruins would likely move Debrusk + a solid top-9 forward, or possibly have Forbort along with Debrusk and add in a decent prospect. Something like 1st + 3rd + Debrusk + Forbort along with Jackson Edward and the Flames likely accept. Just a thought.

Tarasenko to EDM
Just wanted to add this thought to this. EDM get's a 3,000,000$ Tarasenko to possibly put with McDavid. That line would be ridiculous. I think the 2nd and 4th pay for most of that value and I think Ottawa wants someone younger in return, so Foegele takes that spot. Foegele also is a good mix of value/cap to make the deal work so he looked to be the best piece to move.

I wouldn't say that really. Tarasenko does produce more, but he's older. Ottawa adds possibly like a 4th and Vancouver takes this. As for Ottawa, it is a risk to take on someone like Kuzmenko who could possibly just not perform. I don't think Kuzmenko would be fully opposed since Ottawa was rumored to be big contenders to sign him when he came out of Russia.

I like Fabbro as a trade piece, but Glass really hasn't proven anything that suggests he should be worth as much as some say. Schaefer is a promising guy but I think maybe swap Glass for a 3rd and Ottawa would probably take this. Maybe retain some of Fabbro to sweeten it just a touch.
