love all three of them from Ottawa perspective, and would be surprised if Carolina moves Chatfield, esp if they move TDA

Is that Brannstrom trade in the hope that Chatfield re-signs in Ottawa? Because if not, you traded Brannstrom for a 6th and made the defense much weaker, particularly if you trade Chychrun too (which is highly possible)

Chatfield would come with an extension, and Chatfield is better defensively then Brannstrom, which is what we need.

Canes keep Chatfield and pass. Could be a deal there but not for Chatty. Just glad I didn’t see another Vlad or Kub trade.

Why the Canes would do that then? They'd be more interested to acquire Brannstrom at the draft.

And Brannstrom has pretty good defensive metrics too

I don't love the Canes trade because Brannstrom is a lefty and Chatfield is a righty. I could see the Canes paying a higher pick for Brannstrom's rights in the offseason, or potentially now for additional defensive depth without the Chatfield add, but I don't think that Brannstrom is moving Orlov, Skjei, or Slavin out of the lineup and so his value at the deadline to the canes is minimized.

Actually really balanced, would not mind any of these moves for Ottawa. Maybe a few picks here and there for the other teams, but good job on the balancing.
