Way too much for a player that you've zero chance of resigning, Due to high AAV ask Horvat is a pure rental in Colorado. And rentals get nowhere near that kind of return.

Ha, ha, ha. Very amusing. Joe Sakic didn't raise nobody to trade away three first-round draft picks in a row. Especially for a rental that they'll have worlds of trouble re-signing.

Sakic has traded exactly one 1st round pick since 2014. Lacroix traded 1sts all the time. These two are not the same.

And the Lacroix trade was for a player the Avs would have controlled for a decade at minimum (UFA was 31 at the time), not a playoff rental.

Can't figure out what the OP was alluding to with that reference.

So what I remember reading is Lacroix said he never offered all 4 for Lecavalier he never included the #12 that ended up being Tanguay.
