Explain the Anaheim trade to me, as I'm not seeing how this makes sense for either team. I'd assume you want to get rid of Dobby's cap hit, but not sure why you want a barely AHL long shot goalie. We signed him to be our AHL backup and see if there's anything there since we are letting Erikson Ek go.

This makes absolutely no sense. Faksa and Olofsson are more useful than Kassian and O'Brien. What is the point of trading Faksa for a guy that you stratched? Stars don't have the LTIR cap space for Muzzin after using most of it on Bishop, and it would take wayyyyy more than FC to unload that contract. No need for Borowiecki either as they have Hanley as a 7th and Harley in the minors. And they clear Khudobin's contract for what exactly? adding a 13th and 14th forward and 8th defenseman? pretty poor asset management

To be fair, we signed him because the Gulls end up playing ECHL goalies in a bunch of games every year due to injuries and call ups. It might as well be an ECHL goalie that we drafted rather than some warm body with no affiliation to the organization. Alexander is super young so who knows maybe after a couple of years in Tulsa he might mature into a viable AHL guy.

Regardless none of that changes the idea of trading him for a cap dump is kind of nutty.
