The problems with the Rangers is they don't have big contract they can trade away to create cap, which makes a 5.5m raise for Meier really impossible

Thanks for ignoring the players NTCs/NMCs. And really for most trades, equal cap has to come back.

Sharks fans would be dancing in the streets, and this would make the Buch trade look good. Not a chance NYR does this.

Deals like this is like taking a loan to pay for sex... not wise. Besides problem with NYR isn't the kiss it is Panarin and his 11.6 M.

Even if Drury could get any of Kreider, Trouba, or Panarin to lift their NMC, the teams (they would lift for) would have Drury bent over a barrel- to the point they’d get Pennie’s on the dollar, or would even have to pay to move. Salary retention is a very good possibility- but of course in doing so, the Cap benefit is limited. End result: if one of these guys is to be moved, it will be BEFORE a big move is made…and none of these guys are going anywhere by TDL.
