Why is Dallas trading Montreal a 1st for Puljujarvi when they could just trade Gurianov to Edmonton for him?

How many times does it have to be told to Montreal fans that sean Monahan will never play in Minnesota or that our gm doesn't want him. Just like the boeser proposals, enough of this Monahan to Minnesota proposals!

To dump khudobin is the only logic I can think?

Because our beat reporter has reported on this for the longest time including how Guerin would have passed on , or did pass pnn1st round pick this summer to take on 1 year of Monahan

Well that’s poor asset management. Nobody said Monahan would have had to play with Minny. Probably just wanted to save his cap space for other purposes/not take the risk

Maybe, but they don’t need to dump him if they’re swapping Gurianov for Puljujarvi. And even if they did, dumping $2M shouldn’t cost a 1st Round Pick.
