Description
A lot of people are saying a Horvat/Schenn deal cannot be done unless a big roster player is moved. Not quite.

You probably have some (atleast $555,000) accrued cap at the deadline to make this work. If you don’t, then Greer is waived.

Smith is waived. Reilly is the only one that needs to be sent out to clear cap space and it doesn’t have to be to Van. The trade pieces are anything and everything to get it done (non-roster players of course)

And I’m not even thinking about next year because that’s not the point of this ACGM.

Did you miss the memo by JR? Where he wants NHL ready players now, Roster players Vancouver still wants to compete. So you offer two prospects who aren't NHL ready and a garbage LD in Reilly who doesn't have any value to them. Plus you've still less then a 1% chance of resigning Horvat even moving both Carlo and DeBrusk. No way Vancouver accepts this trade.

Reilly has another year left which will cost you a '23/24 2nd that you don't have in order to move so what prospect is attached with him to ANA, SJ, CBJ or Chi because Lohrei or Dipietro are the only ones of interest to Zona with your 3rd attached and Smith dump

Trading 2 top prospects a a first to upgrade the 3rd line? Absolutely not , Horvat gets all the prime minutes in Van, he won’t get them in Boston.

Uhhhhh, I’m just showing it can be done. Also not saying it should be done.

Smith is not dumped and like I said, pieces don’t matter. Just showing it can be done

Obviously you didn’t read anything. Reilly can get sent anywhere. A nice enough pick and prospect package with maybe a zboril or someone who is nhl ready will get Van to accept. We saw last deadline that all of these big name players didn’t get even close to what people expected on this site.
Again, the pieces aren’t important, i’m just showing it can be done…..

And what do you mean “still” compete…… lol

If I told you how exactly, I would be both Don Sweeney and Patrik Allvin in one body. A nice enough prospect and pick package will get Van to accept.

Well obviously JR and the Canuck ownership think this team can still compete, Yet Horvat is gone, Boeser will be gone talking about a buyout on Garland. Doesn't sound like a team that's going to compete to me. but JR still wants roster players and NHL ready players that can play now. And Lysell and Lohrei aren't those players. Probably want Carlo even with his 5 concussions.

Still too much to give up for a player you've 0% chance of resigning this summer.

Nobody is saying it can’t be done this year. Don’t remember that ever being said.

We are saying he can’t be re-signed.
