I see what your saying but Boqvist is a top pair RD on a cheap contract with term at the age of 23, that doesn't come cheap and he will help the kraken alot more this year and next then tolvanen will have the chance to.
Sprong probably doesn't peak the interest enough for Jarmo to move Boqvist.

Oilers pass. JP would be a cap dump if they elect to trade him in order to fit some incoming cap hit in. Otherwise they just don’t qualify him and lose him for mother rather then paying to move him. VG will get a nice return for CLB but I highly doubt it’s 2 firsts or equivalent. VG would be an upgrade for EDM but not enough to justify trading that much for him.

I only say he's a cap dump and included here so the trade can happen and the oilers actually gain cap space for another TDL move. They're not paying to get rid of him here, that would cost more.
Bourgault has good potential but he's not equivalent to another 1st round pick(even if he was taken there). Another actual 1st round pick always has more value in a trade, he's more equivalent to a 2nd atm until he proves in the NHL he's going to be a successful top line player. But oilers have some other lower forward prospects that could work in his place here.

When considering the fact they would be opening up cap space in this trade the value looks better in general, however, I disagree with your opinion on Xavier for a few reasons, I’m not sure where you have come to the idea he wouldn’t be worth a first or equivalent to a first round pick until he’s a proven top line player, for clarification, are you suggesting that every player picked in the first or outside the top 10 at the very least is all of a sudden worth a second if they were to get traded, they depreciate that much? I personally disagree, I don’t think he needs to prove anything only 2 years post draft. His value remains at a first round pick equivalent in a trade. Also, holland traded down to get him giving up a high franchise potential goalie prospect in the process, if any GM called and made the same claim as you in the hopes to pry him from EDM Holland would have no issue reminding them he’s worth more then a second. Also, Holland hasn’t traded a first pick for a rental since coming to EDM, I highly doubt he trades 2 for a LHD who would hardly be an upgrade even with the cap space opening up. Sources close to EDM are reporting the emergence of Brobergs recent play has lead to EDM rethinking if a significant move for a LHD would be worth the assets. When all said and done EDM doesn’t make that trade.

Hey, if Edmonton doesn't want him then there's many other teams lined up with offers for his services.

And no I'm not saying every player is necessarily worth less once they're drafted but rather an actual 1st round pick is worth more to a team because they're able to use that pick however they see fit. Draft the specific player they want or use it to trade for a specific other asset. So to say this trade is worth 2 1st round picks isn't correct imo, it's worth less. Not alot less but less none the less.

Personally I'd prefer Ried Schaefer anyways over bourgault

I hope they don’t if this is what it would take. IMO, bourgault has first round pick trade value. No proof or reason as to why he would be valued any less.

I don’t hate the Leafs trade. I’ve liked Korpi for a while now. I’m a bit concerned about injuries though. Between Murray, Sammy, Freddy, and Campbell we can’t seem to keep our goalies healthy

Tolvanen has been 1/3 of the Kraken's most effective line (with Gourde and Bjorkstrand) since he joined the lineup so I think he'll have a noticeable impact over the rest of this season and beyond.

That point aside, Seattle's need for a RD has been significantly diminished by events this season, with the addition of Justin Schultz coupled with Will Borgen seizing his opportunity to become a key piece of the team. Between those two, Adam Larsson, and Cale Fleury, the Kraken are relatively set at the position, and thus don't have a major need to trade for another RD. I do think Boqvist is a better player than he's shown and probably wouldn't come especially cheap, but I doubt Seattle's going to make a move like this, at least not during the season.

Leafs don't need Korpisalo. Murray should be back shortly after the all-star break - and in the mean-time, we have Samsonov and Woll.

Even if it turns out Murray's injury is more severe than though, we will still run with Samsonov and Woll.
