Kerfoot does too much for this team to replace with JVR.

Not enough for Sturm-- SJ has him on a great contract for a 27 yr old-- to get that away, will cost more than late picks.

Trading away Holl for nothing doesn't help TOR win.

holl creates some cap space plus he doesnt have a spot on this roster JVR is wayyy better than kerfoot and is a top 6 caliber winger and strum isnt that good hes a bottom/middle 6 player but yes it may be an underpay but i think his and holls value are simular and that trade was to cancel out the assests given up for strum

JVR produces more offense than Kerfoot, no doubt. But Kerfoot moves around the lineup, kills penalties, a consistent 200 ft game with speed.
I have no problem getting JVR to create more depth scoring, solidifying 2nd unit PP--- but not at the cost of Kerfoot. His value to this roster is way undervalued.

I'd rather keep Holl than try for Sturm. Just my preference. I'll keep D depth before bottom 6 depth.

Sturm is one of the best value contracts in the league. Bottom six guy locked in for two more years AFTER this at 2 mil cap hit.
This isn't close

JVR is on par with kerfoot on defence and can play both wings and move up to line 1 with injury, kerfoot cant. in the lineup shown above he doesnt have really have a role espicially at that cap hit

sturm is average at best its a good contract but not even close :one of the best" holls is the more valuble player and whoever signs him will sign him to a better contract than sturm

JVR is nowhere near Kerfoot as a defensive forward, or as a penalty killer. Yes he can play both wings, but Kerfoot is added C insurance.

While I agree Kerfoot doesn't have a role carved out in top 6, he does more for this roster than JVR would.

Lol Holl, the guy that leafs fans have been dying to get rid of for the past 4 months? He's 31 and his contract expires this year, how is that a good contract?
Sturm is essentially a depth forward that any team that's up against the cap would absolutely love to have. and to have two more years locked in at that low up a cap hit, his value is amazing.

That's why Coleman, Goodrow, and Hagel got insane returns. They had term at a low cap hit.

Not specifically Knies, just saying it’s quite a bit off. He has term and have played two way center really well, why would San Jose take late round picks for him? It’s just going to cost much more than that to get him out of San Jose and Grier said that much in an interview
