Those are two nothing prospects and middling picks down the road. Other teams will outbid that right away, I don't think the cost to acquire Toews will be worth Toews

I don't see it happening. Center is probably the last area of need for the flames, unless your talking a legit game changing 1C which won't happen anyways.

If Toews decides to waive his NMC I could definitely see Calgary as a team he'd go to. Hawks would probably want a 2023 2nd as part of the deal, maybe packaged with those 2 prospects? If that's not agreeable, then change the 2025 3rd to a 2023 4th and maybe the Hawks would go for that. I'm pretty certain they'll want a 2023 pick of some sort in any Toews deal. Phillips is probably too old but he'd get a legit shot at playing for Chicago right away at least.

Not at all what I am saying. Phillips has zero trade value whatsoever. Nikolayev is 21 and can't get out of the ECHL right now, and the Hawks would likely want picks from a stacked draft class like this years as opposed to putting off stocking the cupboards with prospects. If the Flames were to throw a Schwindt, Bell, Ciona, Pettersen type prospect with a 2nd from this year it's a much more reasonable package. I think other teams have more of a need for Toews than the Flames so I could see them getting outbid.
