I personally think moving Nemec would be a mistake, but I know you mentioned you're messing around.

Well it doesn't mirror the Stone situation . Stone was an upcoming UFA and wasn't resigning with Ottawa. Ottawa/Vegas/Stone had an extension in place
Meier is not a UFA. 1.5m seasons till UFA. So far no extension in place...though he can QO by his team by July 1st.

Depends who you think has higher potential between Luke Hughes and Nemec, but both are in a higher place than 2019 Brannstrom.

The Mark Stone trade is terrible to mirror. The Sens lost complete leverage and we’re trying to get an A level player prospect really badly and were running out of time at the deadline. They got Brannstrom but weren’t able to squeeze a 1st round pick.

I would imagine the Sharks would QO him (it's just 1.5m) over fair value, and then try to flip him as upcoming UFA in the at the TDL 2024. Of course he just might sign a long term deal for security for let's say 8.5m X 8 and then he might be even more valuable in a trade at some time due to his cost certainly.
But if traded now to virtually any contender, and and with this QO.....his don't have the cap next July 1st.....yeah he's a UFA pretty much to the Leafs, Rangers, etc.
