If the Red Wings end up trading Larkin... it's for a big prospect package and a timing reset on their rebuild. Asking for Savoie, Rosen and a 1st... too much, or too little?

Also, does Buffalo want to make a move like this? They are not exactly in win now mode just quite yet.

It's a good package but I'd personally want JJ peterka and not Savoie. I'm not a big fan of his.

That's a pretty rich offer for Larkin. I don't think they'd get Savoie, Rosen, AND a 1st? That's too much.

It's too much unless it comes with a reasonable extension. I think he'd be a good fit in BUF, but this is a little much. And I don't think DET would be on his acceptable trade list

For those who believe the package is too much for Larkin (and obviously the impediments are his NTC and Buffalo has to believe, and is willing to give Larkin, 8 years at $9-ish mill AAV):

Does swapping Ostlund for Savoie get the deal done? Does that swap plus dropping the 2nd rounder get it done?

Just gauging what everyone believes is a viable trade, aside from the two Larkin issues above...

Based on the return for Horvat this is a bit much. Larkin would need to agree to a long term deal prior to the trade.

If a long term contract is agreed upon then a deal would probably include a B prospect (Rosen/Oustland), a conditional first, and a NHLer (mitts/olofsson/jokiharju).

However Buffalo's GM has been very upfront about taking the slow approach of draft and develop.
