Colorado has like the deepest defense core in the league, why would they pay big assets to add multiple defensemen

Giving up a 1st round pick for Luke Schenn is an all time bad decision, especially when you have a glaring need for a 2C

i mean there's a high chance schenn is a free agent this summer so i think we'd just wait and have him as a ~1mil signing for 3rd pairing to take johnsons spot next year. I would like to add rathebone though, if we can land a solid 2C we probily have to let toews go and that would give us another solid skater and puck mover for when we run into our injury times

My bad on the resigning condition. Can't do that. So its an extra 3rd to win plus added value in prospect swap
