I dont know why they keep going after Ryan Suzuki
He wouldnt even make our AHL roster as even Matt Martin's little cousin in his rookie season pro has double his goals and almost double his production.
Only person he might bump is Mysak who's our 4th C having issues adjusting to small nhl style ice would be the only reason he might take the rookie out.
Schnarr is less productive but everyone on his wing hits double digit goals after lines reshuffle because of call ups. First it was RHP who jumped to the NHL on Suzuki's line funny enough.
Condotta stepped up next going on a tear after Teasdale slotted into RHP's slot beside Schnarr. and Belzile as of late is tearing it up after being injured early on in the season allowing for Condotta's promotion. Cant trade the golden goose even if he's not producing all those around him are
I'd love to have a Suzuki at both the NHL and AHL level , Truly i would love Duel Captains at both levels .
But MTL Media would eat Ryan Suzuki alive as his development hasnt moved an inch since his rookie season 3 years ago.
While its true Nick Suzuki might be able to light a fire under his but , its more likely Ryan Suzuki would enter our system and fall to our ECHL team in Trois-River
Besides his last name there's nothing about this player that justifies MTL paying for this prospect especially when he's the first prospect i've ever seen Elite Prospects headline Scouting Report throw shade at the end of a compliment about his "Effort Level". 4 years later he's made no progress really even though he's been on Ghule/Dach's Silver medal WJC team and a AHL Calder Cup team he was injured during their run. Teams with him are no better and sometimes worse off in a playoff /tournament style formate by having Ryan Suzuki. IF Team Canada had Roy instead of him Canada would have 3 Medals in a row not just the 2 they've had since placing Roy on the team.
Unless you find a way to spark that guy , i just dont know how he'll ever succeed.
Only time he stood out was when his parents were there developing in Ontario watching him play.
Since then He's went from a Point per game or top prospect guy to someone you cant rely on at that level
