That's a pretty bad deal for the canucks

Doubt the Leafs have any interest in taking on Demko for the same reasons they didn't have interest in giving Campbell term. He's a largely unproven goalie who has a big ticket and long term.

Canucks pass easily

2 seasons as an elite goalie. Contract is a steal. Assuming he’s healthy every team would want him

'elite' goalie. He was top 10 by fancy stats one of those seasons (9th). Demko is basically a league average goalie when you take his entire career so far into account but he has term and a big contract. He's not one of the elite, he's no where near the Shesterkins, Sorokins, Hellebuycks, Vasilevskys etc. He isn't even in the conversation with those names. The main difference is a lack of consistency. The truly elite goalies go out and put in a good effort regardless of how the team in front of them fares. Demko is not that goalie.
