No offense to NYR, but their prospect list is a lot shorter than it was a few years ago. Most of their top prospects have panned out well and are likely to be untouchable (Kakko, Chytil, Miller, etc.). I think Laf is the most likely the best choice in terms of similar timeline and skills set the Sharks would want. Sharks are also dry on defensive prospects, so Jones is a nice selection.

Do you think he's playing up to 1OA potential? I'm a fan of his, so I'll root for him to live up to his potential, but so far I don't think he's top 3 in his class. Probably somewhere between top 5-10.

Did I say no 1st round picks? No....I said not BOTH 1st round picks. Timo is a great player that the Rangers just can't afford, cap wise, or in assets to trade for a rental. There are other, cheaper options out there.
