why not? Jett woo is a younger defenseman who has the upside on a top 4 defensemen, Connor garland needs a change of scenery and helps a lot 5v5 as seen in his stats, and Dante Fabbro has been amongst trade rumours for a while now and needs to get his chance in bigger minutes and vancouver is the place to do so, i would sweeten it and give NSH a mid round draft pick aswell

Bear shouldn't be close to 4m I'd say 3m tops if on a longer deal if it's 1-2 years I'd give him a QO. I think that like2.4-2.5m

I honestly wouldn't pay Bear more than 1.5. Canucks need to be really careful with their money. He is a 5-6 D at best.

Woo is a 22 year old 2nd round pick who's never played an NHL game. He'd be a reclamation project at this point. Garland isn't enticing enough for us to jump to move Fabbro.

And the Fabbro rumours are merely just rumours as always.

You’ll have to retain $2M+ if you want Addison for Boeser

I still wouldn't do it, for any amount of retention.

the issue is that chances are his agent will look to noah dobsons 4m per year since they've got very similar stats and advanced stats and that vancouver doesnt want to be giving up right handed defensemen

Bear has been one of the bright spots in my opinion, i think he can definitely be a 3-4 defensemen after one more year working with gonchar, and he's way better analytically than any other right hand defensemen we've got and chances are he'll be looking at noah dobson as a comparable

No way and not even close. Bear is 5/6 D. Play him higher and it won’t go well. I can handle 2 million to 2.25 but anymore and I would rather sign big, strong and nastier D men. Need some smarter, physical D. Bear can skate and move the puck but limited overall.

Bear max contract IMO 2 years 2.5 million
Ideal contract 2 years 1.75 million
So it could be somewhere in the middle.
Also, if VAN resigns Schenn, they would have Schenn and Bear on the right side. Not good enough IMO.

OEL and Myers both cannot return. At all costs they both need to go. Van needs to add 3 to 4 new D. Actually must add, no option other than gutting that D.

Sign 3 of (Graves, Soucy, Doumoulin, Walman, Holl, Van Riemsdyk, Severson)

Thing is OEL actually hasn't been bad, it's just because of his contract that he's regarded so badly, OEL is a decent 2nd pairing dman who if partnered with someone more defensive can be great, and we can't have too many buyouts since i dont think a team will take on that contract without van giving up a lot so i think he's fine to stay, as for bear with the minutes hes playing and being our best right hand dman at the moment i imagine his agent will be looking at noah dobson as a comparable since their numbers are very similar and hes 4m, i think bear will do less than that but not below 2.5m, schenn is a good bottom pairing defender and absolutly has the quality to be a top 6 guy and brings a physical side to the game which vancouver absolutely lack, bear and schenn is good as long as you bring in a top right side dman and bear and schenn are good in a top 6 and top 4 role respectively. Holl is no better than myers in my opinion, he might be more physical but way less ofensive capabilities so it can't be holl, Graves i feel will ask for way to much being a right hand dman in free agency.

OEL has been terrible. Don’t look at numbers. I watch every game and he is the cause of so many goals, mistake, turnovers this being hemmed in our end. Sure, he can play, 3 million bottom pair.

No way Bear is a top 4 and no way he gets 4 million. OMG he is not strong defensively. Sure he can move the puck. Bottom pair at best.

Graves is left handed D.

Vancouver cannot return Myers and OEL. I am sorry, they are not quality top 4 defenceman. I would prefer other players at affordable prices. It’s gross that they make 13.25 million combined.

We need more hardness and toughness on the backend without giving up too much mobility. Need players who can play PK.

Graves, Severson, Doumulin, Holl, Soucey, Gavrikov, VanRiemsdyk, Jensen, Orlov,
Or
Try to get young players like Cal Foote, Kevin Bahl,

Need 3 new D period.
