This is not an original idea - the beats writers for the Jetts and the sharks from the Athletic came up with this - I posted yesterday and Jetts fans seemed to think it was a tad over pay so I did the retention to make up for it

Jets are probably scouting Bonino, they love having center depth. Maybe Barabonov could be a target as well.

If they are able to trade Wheeler that makes sense, if they trade Dubois, they would still need to replace him at C.

I believe this is a fair trade. I don’t think Chevy would make it if he didn’t think he could sign him long term.

Yeah, I can't see him wanting to sign long term in Winnipeg at all. He's so close to choosing where he wants to play, why would he chose Winnipeg?

I'd also much rather the Jets have the cap space to sign Dubois.
