Sammy definitely isn't being traded. So you can forget that trade.

Sabres wouldn't/shouldn't give up assets to get Kane.

Correct because Sammy is as much of the defensive core as dahlin and power are.

Dahlin is gonna be a Norris Finalist this season
Why do we NEED to trade for Chychrun as his partner, when things are going so well already with Samuelsson??

You’re essentially fixing what isn’t broken
And that just doesn’t make a lotta sense to me
We have other area that need upgrading more than our top pair

Hard Pass on Kane here as well
We should be going after guys that’ll be here long term
This is just the beginning of us getting good
Trading for rentals is just nutty

Why downgrade from Krebs to Kane and pay a 2nd round pick? I'm confused.
Also no thanks on trading Samuelsson. If we go after Chychrun it should be with picks and prospects and maybe a low end roster player like Mitts or Olofsson to make space.

Agree with the Sabres fans above who want to keep Samuelsson. The other factor to be considered is that you really shouldn't be trading players that have just signed long term contracts who want to play the for the Sabres. Sabres seems to have good culture going, and why wreck it for maybe some marginal immediate help in Chychrun.
Not too many teams can achieve it due to cap and UFA, but the it looks like the Sabres can....keeping their premium young players for a long time.
