Sens certainly don't Poink and his 5.8m contract. It may just me, but Dubois is nice...a second line winger/centre. Hardly worth worth a big acquisition cost. If PLD wants to play in Montreal, well the Habs can (should) wait till he's a UFA. Dubois isn't changing the Habs fortunes next season.

Dubois is as good if not better than Suzuki. Adding him would be a huge deal. But MTL don't have to give Dach, they just have to beat any offers other teams would make for Dubois as a 1 year rental.

Winnipeg was in a similar situation with Trouba back in 2019. He asked to play for the Rangers only. They ended up trading him to NYR for a 20th overall pick and Pionk.

And the two same GM were involved. Cheveldayoff for WPG and Gorton for NYR, even though he's now vice-president for MTL and not GM, but he's got a say in every trade.
