The trade might be fair but Seabrook is on the wrong side of 30 for the leafs so they say no unless Chicago retain more money on his contract

If Toronto is willing to retain half of JVR contract who is a 30 goal scorer and is only paying him $2.125M, Chicago needs to retain more and make Seabrook deal $3.5-4M max for Tor

So, Leafs get Seabrook, a guy that would fit in well in their top 4, plus Panarin, who's younger and way better than JVR, and you think they should retain a total of $24.5-$28 million of Seabrook's deal? Riiiiiight...

You'd have to be quite ignorant about hockey to think that Seabrook is anything but an albatross. It's literally the worst contract in the league in a player who has THE WORST shot suppression numbers of any top 4 defenseman in the NHL.
