Hawks decline. None of those 5 players are of interest to the Hawks

Problem is CHI will have to accept the best deal presented to them, since Patrick Kane decides if/where he goes, so CHI won’t have a ton of leverage in this trade

My understanding is it could be a 1st + Puljujarvi + Foegele + a Prospect not named Broberg or Holloway (Oilers likely try to keep Bourgault too)

Chicago, like any team, doesn't have to accept any offer for any player. What source are you using for what you understand it would take?

You’re absolutely right, CHI could just keep Kane the rest of the season and lose him for nothing via Free Agency!

IF Kane only waives for one team, then yes, the Hawks leverage would be limited. But that isn't a given yet. It also doesn't mean they have to accept $5m in cap hits for next season in Yamo and Foegele. Nor does it mean they have to include a versatile, cost controlled F in Lafferty for basically nothing.

Not sure why you wouldn’t be interest in Yamamoto and cap is going the other way in a Kane trade regardless, I guarantee that

You still need players for next season and seem to be improving the value of Cap Dump Jason Dickinson, so not sure what the problem here is exactly. The worse CHI does the better Draft position and chance of Winning the Bedard Lottery gets

Yamamoto’s ceiling is 3rd liner who can play sheltered minutes on the 2nd line when there’s no one else available

Just like Max Domi. Maybe he’s DeBrincat-B

Only Domi is getting first line minutes because we’ve got nothing better to do

Exactly. Yamamoto would do just fine in the Top-6 as a Patrick Kane replacement, heck so would Matthew Phillips

Do you honestly think Yamo is playing up to his current contract? I don't. He's far from a prize. And he wont have 97, 29 and 93 to play with in Chicago. Sure. Oilers can send back 5 or 6 mil of expiring deals to offset Kane for this season. I don't know any GM in the NHL who is gonna take on $5m in cap hit for NEXT season without being compensated. Cap space doesn't come for free. Did you look at that package? A '25 3rd? Lavoie and Benson? Those asset's are pretty low value. I'm not going to belabor the point. I guess we'll see what happens. 🤷‍♂️

Well for sure, it’s just a guess proposal right

No Yamamoto is having a down year and is definitely not playing up to his contract, but neither was Dominic Kubalik and you let him go for nothing and he’s doing quite well for himself in DET now. At least Yamamoto fore-&-back checks and kills penalties. He has a 20 Goal Season under his belt and proved he can score at a 1.00PPG clip before, he just needs to put it all together and the best way to do that is in a bottom feeding team where he can get ice time

At least Yam’s is an NHL Player. There’s no guarantee even a 1st Round Draft Pick makes the NHL. Puljujarvi is close to being on his way out and he was Drafted 4th Overall for example
