Best guess at a Bertuzzi trade. It does involve some retention, but Stars include a B prospect to get the Wings to retain some salary.

Detroit declines. Rather just re-sign Bert. Most Red Wings fans on here will accept.

Thanks for the feedback. I can see that. I think that's what makes this potential trade fun and speculative. Stevie Y is very mum on his plans, but I do think Nill having familiarity with the Red Wings and that organization makes Bertuzzi a deadline fit. Every player has a price though.

I do think if Bert is traded that Dallas would be the favourites because of the Yzerman/Nill connection. Stevie likes trading with his buddies. Trust factor with him is huge. Don't count Tampa out. Yzerman and Brisebois are close. But Tampa doesn't have much to offer.

I'd like to see Bert on the Rangers though because I think he could win a Cup there. His game is tailor made for the playoffs and I believe Stevie and other GM's know this which is why I think he'll get more than what CFACGM's think.

I think a DAL trade needs to net Bourque at a minimum (if not Stankoven). Maybe that's not realistic, and I understand that, but maybe moving Bert isn't realistic either smile

If we can have a decent upcoming road trip Stevie might not be selling at all. Unfortunately we're not getting Stankoven. ☹️

I'm convinced that Bourque is more an Yzerman type player than Stankoven is anyway, but I'm probably just splitting hairs here.

Mavrik Bourque could be a future Top Gun. See what I did there? 😉

I'll be here all night folks. Try the veal and tip your waitress. 🤭

I think they could get a 1st for Bertuzzi, but they most likely arent gonna resign him, this trade isnt too bad, and maybe Gurianov rebounds in Detroit.

Gurianov is an expiring contract which would be needed in the OP's suggested trade for cap reasons. I'm leaning towards Bert not being traded. But no one ever knows with Yzerman.

I dont see the Stars moving Bourque or Stankoven for a rental, unfortunately. Nill has said so in public articles thru The Athletic. However, that could always change. I'm not the biggest fan of Bourque in comparison to other fans/critics, so who knows.

They should try to resign him, Larkin isn't leaving, don't worry too much about it.

I don't worry about Larkin leaving. I'd be shocked.
