The equivalent of three 1st's and three 2nds seems fair for Meier and a massive cap dump. Yes Karlsson is amazing but that contract for four more years is definitely something SJ would like to move on from. And because of that I don't see Buffalo accepting this. They have to pay Dahlin and Power.

Replace Rosen with a better prospect or another 1st and San Jose might accept.

More like 2 firsts and 3 seconds. There's nothing in there worth a third 1st... It has to be a 1st or a single other asset worth a first you can't just count several lesser assets as another 1st.
Karlsson at 25% retained isn't a massive cap dump. 25% is enough to bring his cap hit down to an acceptable level.

Well you have two first round picks and the 14th overall pick in 2021. So yes that value would be three firsts.

Since when is a 100 point defenseman a massive cap dump, especially when $3 mil is retained a year? Then if this is the offer take out Meier

Because it's still 9 mil on the books for that team. NHL is a hard cap league and most teams spend at the cap. Buffalo is one of the few teams that can handle that.

He will be 33 in may with 4 years remaining. He hasn't played 60 games in a season for the last 4 years.

MAX PACIORETTY was traded for nothing because of his cap. I'm not saying he's worthless. Just saying don't be surprised if he is evert traded it's for low value.

He’s clearly health now and teams are intrigued by that. Also vegas will Vegas, San Jose isn’t giving anyone away for free

He's definitely healthy now, but what about next season or the season after. I like Karlsson alot just saying his contract and NMC really make trading him for good value really hard.

Vegas might want him but they have no cap space.

I still think Karlsson is a bad fit for Buffalo. Meier would be amazing for them.
There's too many cooks in Buffalo's kitchen on the blueline. Dahlin already runs the show in Buf. Karlsson needs to be top chef. e.g. Burns and Karlsson didn't work as well as people thought it would
