Description
I watched this draft, the only one I have ever watched, hoping/praying that Dubas picks Schneider. When they didn't I was blown away, annoyed my wife and shut the TV off.

Leafs could potentially have drafted Konecny, Debrincat, and Schneider during the Matthews era. Instead they drafted Dermott, Bracco, Korshkov, and Amirov. The only picks they hit on were Sandin and Liljegren in the last 7 drafts. We have to wait and see what Knies and Minten become.

But, yeah, that's why the Leafs are not a contender and can't compete with the elite teams imo. They lack young cheap talent.

I mean it's not like Dubas could've predicted Amirov getting brain cancer.

Dubas' picks are 95% way too early to tell and most of them look significantly better than the previous guys at the same point in development

Realistically only Knies and Minten have to become significant contributors. Everything else is a bonus. And Amirov is still a high reward pick.
